NHS Treatment Charges
At Smile32 Dental, we are committed to providing NHS dentistry to help you maintain an optimal oral health.
To help maintain and enhance your health, function and aesthetics, we consider your treatment requirements when designing your care plan. We always discuss different treatment options under NHS and give you a written treatment plan under the relevant NHS Band before starting any definitive treatment.
NHS Charges are paid at the start of a course of treatment.
These charges are set by the NHS and are updated on an annual basis. The latest charges can always be found on the NHS website in the article titled: "How much will I pay for NHS dental treatment?".
There are different levels of treatment charges and this will be explained to you during your appointment.
There different NHS charge bands as of 2023-24 are as follows:
Band 1
£25.80
Covers an examination, diagnosis and advice. If necessary, it also includes X-rays, a scale and polish (if clinically needed), and planning for further treatment.
Band 2
£70.70
Covers all treatment included in Band 1, plus additional treatment, such as fillings, root canal treatment and removing teeth (extractions).
Band 3
£306.80
Covers all treatment included in Bands 1 and 2, plus more complex procedures, such as crowns, dentures and bridges.
Emergency Dental Treatment under the NHS
Emergency treatments under the NHS are categorised under Band 4 and urgent appointments can be scheduled with us to take you out of pain and discomfort temporarily. Definitive treatments such as extractions can only be done if deemed necessary and appropriate after your consultation with the dentist.
The charge for a Band 4 treatment is the same as that of Band 1.
